Under the Same Sky

I know my post last night was a downer. I couldn’t sleep well last night and I often turn to music. I am NOT much of an instrumentalist at all. I’m a production guy. I come up with a good piano groove, marry it with a drum groove, bass line, textures, strings and then write lyrics and come up with a melody and vocal that works.
Last night I just needed to play. This is just straight piano – 2 takes. First take was just to play for a few minutes. Second was just hitting the record button. It’s repetitive and I’m not particulary fond of it but I’m calling it Under the Same Sky. It’s four minutes. As I played, I just thought about how all of our lives are so different but we all live amongst each other. And even though we might feel unique, there is someone out there struggling with the same issue, somewhere.
Anyway, up since 3am. Back to sleep.

Mark- just holding you in my thoughts and prayers. You’re doing a great job. It’s nearly impossible not to let the earthly what-ifs and fears get to you from time to time. I hope work is a real positive force in your life. It sure has been for my husband. Take good care of yourself.
Mark, you are allowed to feel down. Hell, its normal. I do too and especially after my operation. I also felt really alone (even from God) Get angry, upset, cry, whatever. These emotions are built in us to help us cope better and release the stress. Remember its not possible to be positive all the time and don’t beat yourself up about it.
I use my painting to help deal with the tumour. Thats why it is wild and abstract!!
Work helps, I agree. For me I felt like a valuable member of society. I could make my unique contribution even if it was small. After all what is life about? Get back into it while taking care of yourself
I suppose I should listen to my own advice!! It helps me re-inforce it!!
